I love Forness® thinking. It forbids people from being intellectually lazy. It’s easy to say ‘no.’ It’s very hard to say ‘yes’ and offer solutions and improvements. We make people play smart, not be smarty-pants.
I find inspiration in everything from nature to the nature of competition. But the quote that puts it perfectly for me is from Nobel Laureate, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi: “My job is to see what everyone else has seen, and think what no one else has ever thought.”
I joined Ideas To Go in 1994, after cutting my teeth in marketing and management at Procter & Gamble and Bausch & Lomb. As a board member, I am also actively involved in the Yale Center for Customer Insights, which puts on several highly engaging conferences per year that both round out my own practice of innovation, as well as expand it.
