Keeping Consumer Panels Creative
As a former Ideas To Go Facility Manager and Creative Consumers® associate, I know firsthand the importance of keeping Consumer Panels mentally, physically, and emotionally stimulated. In fact, it’s a non-negotiable if you want to keep them engaged, energized and thought-producing throughout the day. Here are a few tips from a pro to make sure you’re getting the most out of your consumers:
Mental breaks that allow the consumer panelists to “step outside” of the daily topic, not only help bring back enthusiasm, but also re-ignite tired and busy minds.
Physical excursions that get the blood flowing will also get creative minds thinking. Try playing a dramatic piece of classical music—ask the consumers to close their eyes and choose an instrument to “mime play.” Or, allow them to take a short walk outside to get some fresh air and sunshine. Even a few quick stretching exercises can be invigorating.
Serve foods that provide sustained energy, including almonds, oats, bananas, chocolate—and lots of water. And be creative in your presentation! A table covered with chocolate-covered bananas, oatmeal cookies and a large dispenser of cucumber water is fun and inviting.
Incorporating these simple practices into your project day can keep your Consumer Panelists brighter, happier, and more motivated. (And they usually work wonders on client teams too!)
