This Year I Will 2.jpg

Our Creative Consumers® associates are some of the best in the business at coming up with new ways to see things. During a recent (internal) project, we asked them, "What are some ways you could increase your creativity in the new year?" Their answers were so good we had to share them. I hope you find a few suggestions that resonate with you. Let us know what you try, and here's to a creative year!

Ways To Increase Your Creativity

  • Listen to a Pandora station you've never tried before
  • Instead of asking, "What do you do?" ask, "What are your favorite ways to express yourself?"
  • Sleep more
  • Listen to podcasts
  • Sing in rhyme, Dr. Seuss-style
  • Just sing!
  • Spend one day a week saying "Yes, and" to everything
  • Find the good in "bad" ideas
  • Remember to breathe
  • Learn one new skill a month
  • Do one thing that makes you uncomfortable every day
  • Take up yoga
  • Dance—in the kitchen, around the block, down the hall
  • Invent recipes on the fly
  • Be grateful
  • Spend time in nature
  • Play with kids
  • Take up journaling
  • Watch a play or movie you wouldn't ordinarily choose
  • Choose a random travel destination by rolling dice
  • Write—poetry, stories, conversations, thoughts
  • Celebrate each day
  • Surround yourself with new people
  • Try pottery
  • Read
  • Share your ideas out loud. Be bold!
